How to get over the fear of wind chimes?
OK so when ever I hear wind chimes (mostly the big metal ones) I get filled with dread, I get really nervous, and I get really sad. Is there any way to get over this fear? My Mother loves wind chimes and so dose my sisters (there is about 10 on our pouch) Please any suggestions would be helpful.
It takes time adjust to irrational fears or anxieties called phobias. Behaviorist use a process called extinction to help people deal with anxiety producing stimulus. the process involves the use of the response producing stimulus to help you discover that their is nothing to be afraid of from the stimulus. try sitting outside with your sister and waiting until the fear response subsides, when the chimes chime. your response can be over come by rational thinking and exposure to the chime of the wind chime. eventually the anxiety will go extinct. the active thinking on your part will counteract the anxiety you feel. Anxiety will not last forever. The consultation with a Behavioral psychologist will have a lasting effect on your phobia.
